*Guaranteed placement in a Seedlings class does not guarantee a choice of morning or afternoon session. Placement will be based on available openings.

  • My child thrives on structure. Will a child-led, play-focused classroom be overwhelming for him?

Many children who thrive on structure do very well in a child-led, play-focused classroom. “Child-led” doesn’t mean chaotic—It means that children have meaningful choices within a framework that feels predictable and safe.

Consistent routines, clear expectations, and gentle transitions are used so children always know what’s coming next. Within that steady structure, they get the freedom to explore activities at their own pace—whether that’s engaging deeply with one material or trying a variety of options. Children who like structure often flourish because they feel secure enough to take healthy risks, experiment, and build confidence.

Rather than being overwhelming, this approach actually helps structured learners feel secure, confident, and able to grow.

  • What are your potty-training requirements?

Sprouts Class: Potty-training is not required for this class; however, licensing guidelines prevent me from changing diapers at school. If a #2 accident occurs during class time, a parent will be called to come take care of things.

Seedlings Class & Little Buds: Students should be working on potty-training, but if your child is not yet fully independent in the bathroom and you are concerned about their ability to stay dry while at school, they are welcome to wear a pull-up. If a #2 accident occurs during class time, a parent will be called to come take care of things.

  • How does guaranteed placement work?

Registration for the following year takes place in 3 phases:

    Phase 1: Currently Enrolled Students
    Phase 2: Priority Registration List
    Phase 3: General Public

As a currently enrolled student, those attending the Sprouts class will have access to Phase 1 registration and may choose from any openings in a Seedlings class created by students moving on to kindergarten. Morning and afternoon sessions are filled on a first-come, first-served basis, but because of our mixed-age groupings, spots are typically available in both. If your preferred class is full, please register for the other session and let me know you’d like to be added to the waitlist—currently enrolled students always receive priority.

  • When are classes held?

Sprout Class: Monday/Friday from 9:00-11:00. The M/F schedule gives our youngest learners a balanced rhythm—time to rest between classes without too many days apart.

Seedlings Class: Our 3–5-year-old classes meet Tuesday through Thursday for three hours, either in the morning or afternoon. Attending on three consecutive days provides meaningful consistency and promotes strong learning gains.

  • Where are you located?

Seed to Sprout Preschool is located in South Jordan, UT. Our classroom is housed in a bright and inviting basement space in a neighborhood just north of The District.

  • How many students are in each class?

South Jordan City Ordinance sets a cap of 12 students per class for in-home preschools. Seedlings classes at Seed to Sprout will not exceed this number, with most classes having 10 students. The Sprouts class will have 8 or fewer students. This small teacher-to-student ratio is perfect for providing individualized attention to each child.

  • Do you enroll students with disabilities?

Yes! Seed to Sprout is a neuroaffirming preschool, and my degree in early childhood special education, along with my years teaching special ed preschool, means that my program is well-suited to adapt to the needs of all learners. That said, as a small private program, I do not have the same resources that are offered by public schools or larger private institutions. If you are interested in enrolling your child at Seed to Sprout, give me a call so that we can chat about your child’s needs to determine if my program would be a good fit.

Is preschool a good value?

Given the time, care, and developmental benefits involved, preschool offers one of the greatest returns on investment for young children!
